Photocinema
I wanted to create a range of modern Femme Fatal images for my photocinema assignment. I currently only have one of my images out of the five i need. I want to take the exact same image but of five different women. I got some rough ideas from watching movies like basic instinct. Due to unfortunate circumstances I haven't been able to take the rest of my images. I'm hoping to get the rest of the images over the Christmas holidays in time for the images to be handed in.
Last Day
Today is the last day before the Christmas holidays. Due to some unfortunate events I've got one piece of work that i haven't been able to complete. I am quite disappointed about this because it's my first year here and i've not been able to complete all my work. I feel like i've let people and myself down.
I'm looking forward to going home over Christmas and getting some new images. I want to try and get some early morning winter images.

James Bond Shoot
I recently did my first shoot in the studio. It was for my photographic composits and i was creating a James Bond movie poster. The time i had in the studio was great. The two models i had were a great help and so was Steve as i had never done any studio photography before. The images i got came out really well. Ive now almost finished my final poster and im liking what ive come up with so far. I have managed to get everything into it i wanted. I have been lucky enough to get some great help from Lance with after effects to put explosions and 3-D writing into my image. I have really enjoyed this assignment and when its finished Lance and I are going to try and turn the poster into an interactive image. I believe that it will be something different, certainly something i havn't seen before. Really looking forward to it.
Evil Dead Shoot
Last Thursday i did a shoot for a friend in my photography class. It was the first time i had done anything like that before. The shoot was for a movie poster from the film Evil Dead. It was great fun, i was covered in fake blood all day and was roaring at the top of my voice to get the right effect for the image. I would love to do more things like that. It was great fun. It also helped me get to grips with all the equipment in the studio.

Greeting Cards
I finally got my greeting cards printed off. I had them printed as standard images, then slipped them into the greeting cards. I think this is an advantage because it works out cheaper and therefore would increase my profit. Hopefully! I have about a dozen images to choose from. Some are good and i will use, and some i'm not so sure about. I think i have more than enough to work with.

Tuesday 21st October 2008
Handed in my New Media assignment today, only two left to do by Christmas. Going back home for a few days tomorrow so i hope to get some good images for my card assignment. I think Scotland has some of the best scenery in the world, so a great place to get my images. Can't wait!

Shugborough House
I went to Shugborough House last week. This was a great opportunity to get some good images. There were some interesting buildings and people that i was able to get pictures of. I think i should have been working a little quicker, some shots i spent a little bit too long waiting to get the right image and if i worked that little bit faster i think i would have been able to get a few more images. I found the day very useful, i could see how different people work. It gave me a good indication how quickly you need to work as a photographer.

Moving
Just moved into my new flat, and getting everything sorted out. It's quite tricky unpacking and working on all my coursework at the same time, but I'm getting there slowly. I'm enjoying studying new media, never looked at the subject in such great detail before and i find it very interesting.

Research
I'm finding it very interesting researching about the photography industry. I didn't relise how difficult it is to make money from photography, especially from postcards and cards. I'm glad that the course also focuses on the buisness ethics as well as taking pictures.

Sitting down with Chris
I had a talk with Chris today and i feel he has given me the confidence to keep up with the rest of the class. I want to be at least the same level as everyone else.
I think i might have a problem getting landscape images. I don't really know where to go. It was easy at home, i had the most amazing landscapes all around me. The most visually stunning in the world i believe. I'm going to miss that most about Scotland, especially the west coast. I'm going to try get out to the Peak District and i hope there are some good images to be taken out there.

First days of college
I started college on Tuesday and i found it a bit daunting at first. I didn't know anyone and it didn't help that most of the class knew each other. It feels to me like the rest of the class know a lot about photography and i feel i need to be doing a lot of catching up because i don't know as much about the subject. I think whats best is for me to keep reading up on the subject and use my free time to take full advantage of the good advice i'm getting.
I think it's going to be hard for the first two assessments as i've never committed myself to a project like this before, but i think that's a good thing because it wouldn't be fun if it was easy.
I'm just looking forward to getting out and taking some images!

What is a blog?
A blog is a website that is normally maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. The word "blog" is a contraction of the term "web log". Entries in a blog are normally displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Blog has a looser meaning wherein the subject expresses his or her opinion or simply talks about something.
Many blogs are posted as online diaries and some provide commentary or news on a particular subject. A typical blog consists of text, images, and links to other blogs, and other media related to it's subject. Readers can leave interactive comments on a blog which is an important part of most blogs. Most common blogs are textual although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (mp3log), audio(podcasting), which is part of a wider network of social media. "Micro-blogging" is another type of blogging. It contains very short posts.
